Kenko Tokina Co. Ltd. is pleased to announce the International Filter Photo Contest 2021 with the theme "Photographs with effective use of filters". Please find below the details about the contest. We are looking forward to seeing the full potential of filters in your works!
The International Filter Photo Contest, which presents photos from around the globe showcasing the wide range of effects created by photographic filters, is being held for the 10th time since its beginning in 2009. We are waiting for your entry with your best shot showing the awesome effect of filters.
The results of the competition will be announced in February 2022.
International Filter Photo Contest 2021 Application Guideline
Entry period: August 2, 2021 – October 31, 2021
Themes
Any type or brand of photographic filter which shows its effect is eligible. We do not accept filters such as protectors, UV protectors etc., which create no visible effect in the work. Photos edited with a retouching software, such as color swaps, that contribute significantly to the final work will be disqualified.

Grand Prix: 1 prize / 500,000 JPY (or U.S. dollar equivalent to 500,000 JPY), Certificate and photo frame of the work
Jury's Special Prize: 5 prizes / 100,000 JPY (or U.S. dollar equivalent to 100,000 JPY), Certificate and photo frame of the work

Christophe Anagnostopoulos
Christophe Anagnostopoulos is an award-winning professional photographer and filmmaker based in Greece. His involvement with photography and filmmaking began at a young age, having as first incentives classical landscape photographs and experimental time-lapse/documentary films. He is not ceasing to experiment till this day, continuously evolving his techniques to keep up to modern day standards and needs.
Since 2017, he is a Global Ambassador of Tokina and HOYA, and he specializes in astrophotography, landscape photography, time-lapse, documentary filmmaking and commercial photography. Due to his technical knowledge, he also works professionally on testing and reviewing photographic equipment, providing valuable feedback to his clients.
Born in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Entered Junior College of Tokyo Polytechnic University. Studied artistic photography and other forms of photographic expression in the fifth laboratory of the Department of Photographic Technology. After graduating, he joined Nikkan Gendai Co., Ltd. and was in charge of politics, events, and the Yomiuri Giants professional baseball team.
He later left Nikkan Gendai and became a freelance photographer. He is currently active in a variety of genres, including official corporate photography, advertising and camera magazines, focusing on moments, spaces, and objects created by people in magazine media. He also teaches at schools and offers photography classes. In his work, he continues to use snapshots to capture various aspects of the ever-changing Tokyo.

Feng Jun
Feng Jun, member of China Photographers Association, China Photographic Copyright Association, Beijing Photographers Association, China Folk Photography Association, China Tourism Photography Association, China Great Wall Society, senior contract photographer of major domestic news media and photo libraries as well as photography training instructor.
In 1991 he studied photography at the Chinese Academy of Art under the ministry of culture of China. In 2008, the People's Daily Network Center announced him as one of the top ten photographers in the People's Photo Network. The main subjects of his works are social documentary news, human geography, etc. Nearly a thousand of his edited photos were adopted by online and print media.
Stan Moniz
Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, Stan was a child of the ocean. His passion for the waves led him to a career as a professional bodyboarder which transitioned into the creative space of capturing the beautiful moving ocean through photography and film.
Now living in Orange County, California, Stan is a published photographer with more than 15 years of experience. Surfing isn't the only thing on his mind anymore.
As a Sony ambassador that comes highly recommended, he continues to push his boundaries in the creative arts. With his infectious positive love for adventure, Stan has adapted a nature journalist approach to his content creation. Stan is also an educator at heart and he is leading workshops and presentations, helping to spark that fire for photography and filmmaking.
Born in Toyama-go, Iida City, Nagano Prefecture.
Worked in a car sales company and a motorbike shop. Later, in order to take over the family business, he started to study photography, believing in his own potential and aspiring to become a photographer. After working as an assistant to the photographer Toshinobu Takeuchi, he became independent.
He was awarded the 8th Fujimoto Shihachi Photography Award for "Arabiru Dena", which covered the "Shimotsuki Festival" of Yudate Kagura in his hometown. A photo book with the same title was published by Shinano Mainichi Shimbun. He has published many photo collections including "Yakushima: Mountain Island", "Rainy Days Yakushima", "Traces of Yakushima", and essays such as "Rain, Rain, and More Rain: A Yakushima Story". He sympathizes with novelist Jiro Nitta's Buntaro Kato in "The Lonely Man" and admires Frank Yasuda in "Alaska Story".
