UV + Clear
Protect your lens
Formatt Hitech’s UV filters with Firecrest coating are the single most effective tool available for eliminating UV contamination and increasing contrast and acuity in your images, while also providing protection for the front element of your valuable lenses.
UV MC
Firecrest UV’s feature our exclusive Firecrest multicoating, that is both anti-reflective and hydrophobic, coated to broadcast quality glass in the thinnest rings on the market.
UV IR
The Firecrest UV IR Cut is a specialty filter that allows visible spectrum light to pass while blocking both UV and IR. These filters block infrared contamination that can cause image degradation.
UV 370
This 370nm offers additional UV protection over the basic Firecrest UV making it a great everyday UV filter for discerning shooters. For maximum UV reduction (shooting at high altitudes for example) a UV 400nm is also available.
UV 400
This 400nm UV filter offers the maximum UV protection available. The 400nm UV reduction is ideal of high altitudes and snow, while also making an excellent everyday UV filter. The 400nm is the choice of top professionals.
Clear
The Formatt Hitech Cinema Clear UV filter is a clear filter which blocks out all UV light contamination which may cause the image to appear faded blue, gray or milky. UV haze would affect film and videotape by giving it a bluish cast and making distant details obscure, but the Formatt Hitech Cinema Glass Clear UV filter corrects this issue. This filter is made using Schott B270 that is precision polished and ground to provide optical clarity, flatness, and performance.

My photographic journey started as a press photographer, working mainly on features relating to legal issues, crime and public order. Walking the streets all day long with a camera in my hand, I started to observe the quirks of human behaviour, which led to an obsession with recording street life – or street photography as we know it.
